Tropical Hospital
meet the band
Tropical Hospital is a dynamic Staten Island-based band led by singer-songwriter Tim Brown-Martinez, alongside Mark Maldonado and Santiago Vascones.
Founded by Tim after the profound loss of his brother and father, the group became his way to explore deep emotions around grief, guilt, personal growth, and revenge. What sets Tropical Hospital apart is their ability to tackle these heavy subjects with an "innocent exuberance"—blending catchy, relatable lyrics with sweeping tempos and an undeniable sense of vitality.

Rooted in acoustic storytelling but possessing the soul of a punk rock outfit, the group’s versatility allows them to shift seamlessly from high-energy, driving performances to intimate, reflective sets.
This adaptability has seen them grace a wide variety of stages across New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania—from hard rock bars and music radio stations to local bookstores, coffee shops, and major outdoor festivals.
In 2024, the band released their debut album, Best Shape of My Life, marking a pivotal milestone in their career. The album successfully brought their distinctive sound to the indie music scene, earning praise from local critics and building a fast-growing, loyal fan base.

Tropical Hospital recently delivered an electrifying live performance at the Maker Park Radio Battle of the Bands at Flagship Brewery and remains a top choice for promoters thanks to their contagious energy.
Currently, the band is back in the studio recording new material and revamping their digital presence. With a slate of new releases on the horizon, Tropical Hospital is focused on expanding their reach and solidifying their position as a rising force in the independent music world.
